Useful info from Suite Carducci ViareggioOur tips, and how to get here
The places we go ourselves, almost all within walking distance: the home is on Viareggio's seafront promenade, the beach is 50 m away, just beyond the promenade, and the train station is 1.3 km away. And what you need to get here and park without a worry.
These are the places we go ourselves, grouped by time of day. For each one you'll find what it is, where it is and how far it is from the home. The button opens Google Maps, with directions and opening hours.
A morning among the market stalls, a day out of town, a bike ride. For your own bike there's a private spot inside the property, free of charge.
The Thursday market in ViareggioIt's the weekly open-air market: over 240 stalls selling clothing, housewares, flowers and food.Every Thursday from 8 am to 1:30 pm, on the Passeggiata (Viale Marconi) and on Via Fratti: you can walk there.

Getting here and parking.
Suite Carducci Viareggio is at Viale Giosuè Carducci 15, on the Passeggiata. Below you'll find how to get here by train, plane, car and taxi, and where to leave your car.
By train
Viareggio train station is 1.3 km from the home: about a 17-minute walk.
Direct trains: Pisa Centrale in 16–21 minutes, Lucca in 17–20 minutes, Florence (Firenze Santa Maria Novella) in about 1 hour 40 minutes.
There are direct trains from Rome and Milan: about 3 and a quarter hours from Roma Termini, about 4 hours from Milano Centrale.
By plane
The nearest airport is Pisa (Galileo Galilei), 36 km away: about half an hour by car.
Without a car: the Pisamover shuttle takes you from the airport to Pisa Centrale station in 5 minutes (€6.50 per ride); from there a regional train gets to Viareggio in 16–21 minutes.
The alternative is Florence Airport: just over an hour by car.
By car
Take the A12 Genova–Livorno highway, or the A11 from Florence and then the Lucca–Viareggio branch: the exit is Viareggio–Camaiore.
From the exit to the home it's just a few kilometers: about 10 minutes without traffic.
Viale Carducci is open to cars. The pedestrian avenues of the Passeggiata, toward the sea, are monitored by cameras: you can't drive in there.
Parking
We don't have private parking, but we'll help you find a space: message us before you travel.
You pay to park on Viale Carducci. With the daily permit (€12 a day) you can park anywhere along the avenue, on the building side and the sea side; with the weekly permit (€25) only on the building side, where there are fewer spaces.

By taxi
In Viareggio taxis run 24 hours a day. The taxi stands are at the train station (Piazza Dante) and in Piazza D'Azeglio; in summer, in Piazza Puccini too.
To call a taxi in Viareggio: 0584 47000 (Radio Taxi Viareggio) or 0584 1924 (Radio Taxi 1924).
In Pisa the service is run by Co.Ta.Pi. Radiotaxi Pisa, available 24 hours a day: 050 541600. At the airport the taxi stand is in front of the terminal, on the arrivals side; there's also one at Pisa Centrale station.
From Pisa to Viareggio the approximate fare published by Co.Ta.Pi. is €95, plus any tolls and surcharges: the exact fare is set by the meter. Always ask to confirm the price before you set off.

During Carnival
On parade days traffic is rerouted and there are fewer parking spaces.
Arrive the day before the parade, never on the morning itself.
